Arguably there is no better way to witness the dramatic and breath taking views of the Afan Valley in South Wales than from our luxurious 4 Berth Shepherd’s Hut. The beautiful interior is furnished with fresh linen and plush upholstery. It comprises a double leather sofa bed and a fitted double bed – complete with orthopaedic mattress to ensure a restful sleep. You can make hot beverages on the gas stove, and choose to sit outside or inside at the 4 seater table.
Imagine those cold crisp days and nights in the warming orange glow of a wood burner – relax as you listen to the gentle crackle of the logs burning. You’ll find our insulated Hut an ideal choice whether you are in need of peace and quiet to work, read, or simply to use as a base to explore South and Mid Wales.
Outside there is seating next to the BBQ/Firepit complete with tripod and skillet pan – ready for you to cook al-fresco or just to toast your marshmallows! It’s quite easy to imagine yourself a shepherd from 100 years ago, overlooking your flock of sheep whilst watching the sun go down over the mountain awaiting the glorious star filled night skies.
You will find your Cook- House at the rear of the Shepherds Hut where you have all the equipment you need for Glamping style cooking, including Crockery, Cutlery, Utensils, Pans, and not forgetting those all-important Wine Glasses and Coffee Mugs.
The Shepherds Hut is very Eco-friendly, fitted with a solar panel to provide lighting as well as power for the Radio and for charging your phone, iPad and small devices via a USB connector. The Bio-digester services the waste from the individual bathrooms, which are a short walk away, with ceramic flushing toilets, showers and pedestal basins. An additional Solar Array provides power for the water heating and electric. A truly ‘Green’ holiday choice.
A Breakfast Hamper locally sourced where possible, comprising of butter, jam, marmalade, orange juice, apple juice, bacon, sausages, beans, fresh tomatoes, duck eggs and homemade bread can be ordered and delivered to you in the evening, for you to wake up to, and enjoy at your own leisure.
We have included loads of extras, bedding, towels, board games, stove gas, hot beverages, starter wood pack, firelighters, all cooking utensils, coolbox & packs, crockery, cutlery, glassware, tea-towels, charcoal, tripod and skillet.
Willow Springs Campsite is situated on the border of the Afan Forest Park, with it’s 64 sq km of forestry there is an abundance of amazing walks ( incl the Richard Burton Trails), cycle trails and wildlife to experience, and still less than 30 mins from our fabulous Aberavon beach. Due to being located next to the forestry you may encounter Insects/midges, mainly at dawn and dusk. Most people manage this with a suitable repellent. The Shepherds hut has insect screens fitted.

The Willow Springs way ensures you have the best possible Glamping experience, we do not inflate prices for term holidays or bank holidays. The minimum stay is 2 nights. 7 day bookings entitles you to a 10% discount and are only available starting from a Monday or Friday. Sorry but we do not allow pets to stay in the Shepherds Hut. There is strictly no smoking/ Vaping in the Shepherds Hut or Cook-House. We would always recommend guests obtain suitable travel insurance.
